If you’re looking for senior housing, now might be a really good time to be looking. According to the Wall Street Journal, there are good deals available.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that many rental communities for seniors are offering concessions and discounts for the first time since the industry took off in the 1990s. “Concessions were never a big issue until just recently,” says Michael Hargrave, a vice president at the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry, which tracks the sector.
Concessions can mean discounts, coupons, and fee waivers. While thousands of baby boomers are retiring every month, the real estate market problems have even made it difficult to sell senior housing. Thus the discounts.
If you’re looking for a new living arrangement, now might be a great time to make the move.
